Hear public spaces
directly in your
hearing aids.
Auracast™ is a new broadcast-audio standard that streams sound from TVs, gate announcements, theaters, and houses of worship straight into compatible hearing aids — no straining, no extra hardware. Now offered and demonstrated at Aurilink in Marietta.
The Basics
What is Auracast™?
A simple idea with a big impact: instead of fighting through background noise, the sound source comes straight to your ears.
Auracast™ broadcast audio is the newest feature of Bluetooth® LE Audio — the next generation of Bluetooth built specifically with hearing health in mind. It lets a single audio source broadcast to an unlimited number of nearby listeners at once, who simply tune in like choosing a station.
One broadcast, unlimited listeners
A gate agent, a TV, or a lecturer broadcasts once — and everyone with compatible hearing aids or earbuds can join, privately, at the same time.
The sound skips the room
Because audio travels wirelessly straight to your aids, distance, echo, and crowd noise stop getting in the way of what you want to hear.
No extra hardware to carry
Unlike older systems, there's no neck loop or special receiver. Your Auracast-ready hearing aids and phone are all you need.
Think of it like Wi-Fi, but for sound.
You walk into a venue, see a list of available audio broadcasts, pick the one you want, and you're listening — clearly, hands-free, right inside your hearing aids. When a place offers public Wi-Fi, you connect without a thought. Auracast brings that same effortless idea to hearing.
In The Real World
Where Auracast changes the day-to-day.
These are the places our patients tell us are hardest to hear in — and exactly where Auracast is rolling out first.
Airports & transit
Hear gate changes, boarding calls, and platform announcements clearly — no more missing the one update that matters.
Theaters & cinemas
Stream the film or stage audio straight to your ears, balanced for clarity — follow every line without cranking the volume.
Houses of worship
A common Auracast use case — the service broadcasts to the whole congregation, so the sermon and music come through clearly from any pew.
Gyms & waiting rooms
That silent wall of TVs finally has sound — pick the screen you're watching and listen in, without disturbing anyone.
Lecture halls & venues
Conference rooms, museums, and classrooms can broadcast the speaker directly, so presentations land no matter where you sit.
Your own living room
An Auracast TV adapter lets you and a partner stream the same show — one watches at a comfortable volume, the other streams to their aids.
Three Simple Steps
How you'll actually use it.
No technical know-how required. Once your hearing aids are set up, joining a broadcast feels as natural as answering a call.
Find a broadcast
Look for the Auracast symbol on venue signage. Open the assistant on your phone or hearing-aid app to see the audio channels available nearby.
Select & join
Tap the channel you want — like picking a TV near you or your boarding gate. If it's a private broadcast, you may scan a QR code or enter a short code.
Listen, hands-free
The audio streams directly into both hearing aids, balanced for speech clarity. Adjust volume right from your aids — no fumbling, no feedback.
The first time, we'll set everything up with you in the office and walk through joining a live broadcast — so when you encounter Auracast out in the world, it just works.
A Step Up
Auracast vs. the old hearing loop.
For decades, telecoil "hearing loops" were the assistive-listening standard. Auracast is its modern successor — and many new hearing aids support both, so you're covered either way.
Auracast doesn't make telecoil obsolete overnight — loops are still widespread, which is why we often recommend aids that support both during the transition.
Is Your Hearing Aid Ready?
Getting set up for Auracast.
Auracast needs hearing aids built on the newer Bluetooth LE Audio platform. Here's what the terms mean — and which aids we fit that are ready today.
"Auracast-ready" vs. "enabled"
Ready means the hardware can support Auracast and is waiting on a software update or a quick setting change. Enabled means it's active and ready to use today. We'll tell you exactly where your aids stand — and turn it on if it's just a setting away.
Older aids generally can't be upgraded
Auracast relies on a new low-energy radio, so most hearing aids more than a few years old won't receive it through an update. If yours predate LE Audio, a demo is the best way to hear what's now possible.
